The article refers to the well posedness of an initial boundary value problem for the system of linear elasticity in two space dimensions. The boundary condition is assumed to satisfy the uniform Kreiss-Lopatinskii condition. This allows further the construction of a dissipative Kreiss symmetrizer of the problem which is important for the investigation of the well posedness.
