On the \(L^2\)-well posedness of an initial boundary value problem for the 3D linear elasticity (Q2493376)

Results regarding the well posedness of an initial boundary value problem for the two dimensional system of the linear elasticity under the uniform Kreiss-Lopatinskii condition have been obtained by the same authors in a previous paper [``A result of \(L^2\)-well posedness concerning the system of linear elasticity in 2D'', ibid. 3, No. 3, 317--334 (2005; reviewed above]. The present article is devoted to the three dimensional case. The techniques developed for 2D are adopted to 3D to construct an everywhere smooth non-degenerate dissipative Kreiss symmetrizer of the initial boundary value problem.
