In the paper under review, a new version of \textit{W. L. Edge}'s construction [Math. Proc. Camb. Philos. Soc. 89, 413--421 (1981; Zbl 0466.51020); ibid. 90, 239--249 (1981; Zbl 0469.14014)] of the linear system of plane sextics containing \textit{A. Wiman}'s four-nodal sextic [Math. Ann. 48, 195--240 (1896; JFM 30.0600.01)] is given, which shows more clearly the hidden geometry of the Wiman sextic.
