Consider a compact manifold \(M\), a compact simply connected Lie group \(G\), the group \(C^r(M,G)\), and the based path group \(PC^r (M,G)\). Let \(H_k\) denote the Hilbert space of Lie\((G)\)-valued maps \(h\) on \(M\) such that \(\int_M\langle (\Delta^k+1)h,h\rangle\) \(dV<\infty\), and let \((B_t)\) denote a \(H_k\)-valued Brownian motion. Using a Maier-Neeb construction, the author considers also a finite-dimensional Abelian group \(Z\), quotient of \(H^1(M, \text{Lie}(G))\) by some lattice, and its Haar measure \(m\). For large enough \(k\), the Stratonovitch equation \(dg_t= g_t\circ dB_t\) defines a random \(g=(g_t(\cdot))\in PC^r(M,G)\), and then the heat kernel measure \(\mu\), law of \(g_1\), on \(C^r(M,G)\). From \(\mu\) and \(m\), the author deduces, for \(r>1\), a measure \(\widehat \mu\) on the central extension \(\widehat C^r(M,G)\) of \(C^r(M,G)\) by \(Z\).
