Let \(X\) be a compact complex manifold and \(L\) a holomorphic line bundle on \(X\). Suppose that a finite group \(G\) acts holomorphically on \(X\) and that this action lifts to a holomorphic linear action on \(L\), i.e., for every \(x\in X\) and \(g\in G\) the induced map \(L_x\to L_{gx}\) is complex linear. Then, \(G\) acts on all tensor powers \(L^{\otimes k}\) and, thus, it acts linearly on the spaces \(H^0(X, L^{\otimes k})\). Therefore \(H^0(X, L^{\otimes k})\) splits \(G\)-equivariantly in terms of the irreducible representations of \(G\). Let \(H^0(X, L^{\otimes k})_i\) be the equivariant summand corresponding to the \(i\)th irreducible representation \(V_i\) of \(G\), i.e., \[ H^0(X, L^{\otimes k})= \bigoplus^c_{i=1} H^0(X, L^{\otimes k})_i, \] where each summand \(H^0(X, L^{\otimes k})_i\) is \(G\)-equivariantly isomorphic to a direct sum of copies of \(V_i\). The object of this paper is the asymptotic growth of the dimension of \(H^0(X, L^{\otimes k})_i\) as \(k\to\infty\), in the following two situations: i) \(X\) is projective and \(L\) is ample; ii) \(X\) is projective and \(L\) is big, i.e., has maximal Kodaira dimension.
