As stated by the authors at the beginning of this article, the construction of lattices in \(\textit{PU}(n,1)\) has been a major challenge in the last decades. The first examples in \(\textit{PU}(2,1)\) were given by \textit{G. D. Mostow} [Pac. J. Math. 86, 171--276 (1980; Zbl 0456.22012)]. These examples use Dirichlet domains. Using current computer technology it was proved that Mostow's domains for the finite groups are incorrect. In this article the authors explain in a detailed argument the mistakes in Mostow's paper, using more geometric techniques, since these mistakes are very difficult to notice. The authors also construct new fundamental polyhedra. The fundamental domains in the new polyhedra will have the same vertices as Mostow's domains but their higher dimensional skeletons are simpler and more natural and are obtained by using a construction related to a fundamental domain for the Eisenstein-Picard group (see [\textit{E. Falbel} and \textit{J. R. Parker}, Duke Math. J. 131, No.~2, 249--289 (2006; Zbl 1109.22007)]). This article contains detailed information on the construction of the polyhedra including detailed verification that they have no self intersections and are homeomorphic to a close ball in complex hyperbolic space. The authors include a section providing a comparison with Mostow's original work and end with a list of faces of the polyhedra they obtain and their lower-dimensional skeletons.
