S-paracompact spaces (Q2495671)

The author introduces a generalized notion of paracompactness; he calls a topological space \(S\)-paracompact if every open cover of the space has a locally finite semi-open refinement. \(S\)-paracompact spaces are characterized and their basic properties are studied. The value of the paper should be considered in the light of the well-known result of \textit{E. Michael} published in a series of papers in [Proc. Am. Math.
