    Let \(\| A\| \) denote a unitarily invariant norm of a matrix \(A\) in the space \(M_{n}\) of \(n\)-square complex matrices. The author shows that \(\| A\| \leq \max\{{\frac{\| A\| _\infty}{2}},{\frac{\| A\| _1}{2}}\}\), whenever \(\| A\| \leq w(A)\) and \(\| A\| _\infty\leq \| A\| \), whenever \(\| A\| \geq w(A)\), where \(\| A\| _\infty\), \(\| A\| \) and \(w(A)\), denote the spectral norm, the trace norm and the spectral radius of \(A\), respectively.
