In [Indiana Univ.\ Math.\ J.\ 36, 645--650 (1987; Zbl 0653.47023)], \textit{R.\,L.\,Moore} and \textit{T.\,T.\,Trent} made use of the following property of nest algebras \({\mathcal A}\subseteq{\mathcal B}({\mathcal H})\): If \(BAB=0\) for every rank one operator \(A\) in \(\mathcal A,\) then \(BYB\in\mathcal A\) for any rank one operator \(Y\) in \({\mathcal B}({\mathcal H})\). In the paper under review, the author verifies that this property holds only for nest algebras amongst all reflexive operator algebras.
