In a previous paper [Colloq. Math. 94, 225--234 (2002; Zbl 1032.54022)] the author constructed for every positive integer \(n\) a hereditarily indecomposable continuum of dimension 1 which has exactly \(n\) autohomeomorphisms forming a cyclic group, and which has an atomic mapping onto the pseudo-arc. In the paper under review the author proves that that each surjection of this continuum onto itself is one of the autohomeomorphisms mentioned above. The author shows that for each \(n\) there exists a family consisting of continuum many topologically distinct continua of this kind, no two of which being comparable neither by surjections nor by embeddings. Extensions of these results to higher dimensions are given.
