In the paper serial rings \(R\) with \(T\)-nilpotent prime radical \(P=\text{Pr}(R)\) are considered whose factor rings \(R/P\) are right Noetherian rings. The main results are: 1. Let \(R\) be a serial ring such that \(R/P\) is (right) Noetherian. Then the prime quiver \(PQ(R)\) is a disconnected union of cycles and chains. If \(R\) is indecomposable, then \(PQ(R)\) is a cycle or a chain. 2. In case \(PQ(R)\) is a chain, the prime radical is nilpotent. 3. For serial rings \(R\) with nilpotent prime radical \(P\) an analogue of the series of indecomposable projective modules, introduced by the reviewer in the Artinian case [\textit{H. Kupisch}, J. Reine Angew. Math. 201, 100-112 (1959; Zbl 0094.25101)], is presented. In more detail: As \(P\) is nilpotent, the length \(\ell(M)\) of a prime series \(M\supseteq MP\supseteq\cdots\supseteq MP^k=0\) is defined for an \(R\)-module \(M\). Let \(1=f_1+\cdots+f_t\) be a decomposition of \(1\in R\) into a sum of idempotents corresponding to the vertices of the prime quiver \(PQ(R)\) and let \(\ell_i=\ell(f_iR)\), \(i=1,\dots,t\). Then it is shown that for the \(\ell_i\) the same relations hold as for the composition lengths \(d_i\) [\textit{N. M. Gubareni, V. V. Kirichenko}, Rings and modules. Czȩstochowa (2001; Zbl 1006.16001), \S4] in the Artinian case.
