    Let \((M, g)\) be a smooth compact Riemannian \(n\)-manifold, \(n > 2\), and \(dv_g\) the Riemannian volume element of \(g\). Let \(M^{s}_{p} (\mathbb R)\) be the vector space of symmetric \(p \times p\) real matrices and let \(A : M\rightarrow M^{s}_{p} (\mathbb R), A = (A_{ij})\), be smooth such that \(A(x)\) are positive for all \(x \in M\) as bilinear forms. The author considers and investigates the Sobolev inequality \[ \biggl(\int_M\sum^{p}_{i=1} | u_i | ^{\frac {2n}{n-2}} dv_{g}\biggr) ^\frac{n-2}{n}\leq K \int_{M}\sum^{p}_{i=1}|\nabla u_{i}| ^{2} \,dv_{g} +\Lambda\int_{M}\sum^{p}_{i,j=1}A_{ij}u_{i}u_{j}\,dv_{g}, \] where the inequality is required to hold for all \(u_1 ,\dots , u_p\) in the standard Sobolev space \(H^2_1 (M )\) consisting of functions in \(L^2 (M )\) with one derivative in \(L^2 \), and \(K,\Lambda > 0\) are positive constants.
