The authors consider the Cauchy problem \[ u_t=\Delta u+ u^p,\;x\in\mathbb{R}^N,\;t> 0,\quad u(x,0)= u_0(x),\;x\in\mathbb{R}^N, \] where \(p> 1\), and \(u_0\) is a nonnegative continuous function on \(\mathbb{R}^N\). The authors introduce a formal expansion of radial solutions to derive the expected grow-up rate. Matching a suitably constructing subsolutions in the outer and inner regions, they construct an appropriate subsolution defined for all \(t> 0\) and \(x\in\mathbb{R}^N\) which leads to the optimal lower bound of the grow-up rate.
