The Levi-Weckesser method is extended to the stabilization of arbitrary inverted pendulums not assuming any symmetry between upward and downward phases in the vibration of suspension point. The procedure is improved to give a sharper estimate for the frequency in the gravity-free case. The main result (Theorem 1) gives a new sufficient condition for stability in the form of an inequality with parameters. The inverted pendulum is stabilized by symmetric vibrations with arbitrary large amplitudes which provide sufficiently large accelerations. The results are compared with the results obtained by using earlier sufficient conditions.
