In a previous work [Int. J. Geom. Methods Mod. Phys. 11, No. 1, Article ID 1450005, 36 p. (2014; Zbl 1285.14060)], the authors conjectured that there exists a compact moduli space of quasi-maps from \(\mathbb{C}\mathbb{P}^1\) to a toric manifold \(X\) of degree \(d\) with \(2\) marked points denoted \(\widetilde{Mp}_{0,2}(X,d)\). \textit{V.~Alexeev} and \textit{G.~M.~Guy} [J. Inst. Math. Jussieu 7, No. 3, 425--456 (2008; Zbl 1166.14034)] considered various compactifications of the moduli of complex structures on \(\mathbb{C}\mathbb{P}^1\) with \(n+2\) marked points, two of which are special, denoted \(\overline{M}_{0,2|n}\). In this paper the authors combine the two constructions to get a compact moduli space \(\widetilde{Mp}_{0,2|n}(N,d)\) of quasi-maps from \(\mathbb{C}\mathbb{P}^1\) to \(\mathbb{C}\mathbb{P}^{N-1}\), and generalize the formalism to the open case. In particular, they define an intersection number, which is conjectured to be the mirror of a certain Gromov-Witten invariant The conjecture is first numerically tested and confirmed for \(\mathbb{C}\mathbb{P}^2\). However, the conjectured mirror substitution does not coincide with the one introduced by \textit{S.~Barannikov} [``Semi-infinite Hodge structures and mirror symmetry for projective spaces'', Preprint, \url{arXiv:math/0010157}] and \textit{H. Iritani} [Topology 47, No. 4, 225--276 (2008; Zbl 1170.53071)], possibly due to arbitrariness in the choice of a polynomial coupled to a deformation parameter. Next, the space \(\widetilde{Mp}_{0,2|2n}(3,2d-1)\) is used to compute disk Gromov-Witten invariants of \(\mathbb{C}\mathbb{P}^2\) with boundaries in \(\mathbb{R}\mathbb{P}^2\). Again, applying the mirror map does not reproduce known invariants correctly unless some unnatural deformation parameters are introduced by hand. Finally, a similar computation for both open and closed invariants is performed for the degree \(9\) hypersurface in \(\mathbb{C}\mathbb{P}^7\). In this case the answers match without the unnatural parameters. This example illustrates how the new intersection number simplifies the computation of the generalized mirror transformation.
