A Banach lattice \(E\) is called disjointly homogeneous (abbreviated DH) if, for every pair \((x_{n})_{n}\) and \((y_{n})_{n}\) of normalized disjoint sequences in \(E\), there exist \(C>0\) and a subsequence \((n_{k})_{k}\) such that \[ C^{-1} \left\| \sum_{k=1}^{\infty}\alpha_{k}y_{n_{k}}\right\| \leq\left\| \sum_{k=1}^{\infty}\alpha_{k}x_{n_{k}}\right\| \leq C\left\| \sum_{k=1}^{\infty}\alpha_{k}y_{n_{k}}\right\| \] for every sequence of scalars \((\alpha_{k})_{k}.\) This class of spaces includes the spaces \(L^{p}(\mu)\), Lorentz spaces of the form \(L_{p,q}(\mu)\) or \(\Lambda(W,p)(\mu)\), and some Orlicz spaces \(L_{\varphi}(\mu)\). The paper under review focuses on two important questions: the self-duality of the class of DH spaces and the existence of disjoint sequences spanning complemented subspaces. For example, Theorem 3.5 indicates a rather general condition, called property \(\mathfrak{P},\) under which a reflexive Banach lattice whose dual is a DH Banach lattice is itself a DH Banach lattice. Theorem 4.4 shows that a DH Banach lattice has property \(\mathfrak{P}\) if and only if it contains a complemented positive disjoint sequence. Section 5 contains examples of reflexive DH Banach lattices with non-DH dual. The paper also includes an interesting result concerning Rosenthal bases. A normalized basis \((e_{n})_{n}\) in a Banach space is said to be a Rosenthal basis if every normalized block-sequence of \((e_{n})_{n}\) contains a subsequence equivalent to \((e_{n})_{n}\). It is proved that a reflexive Banach lattice \(E\) ordered by a subsymmetric basis \((e_{n})_{n}\) is DH if and only if \((e_{n})_{n}\) is a Rosenthal basis.
