Several generalizations of the concept of amenability have been introduced and studied so far. In the paper under review, the authors also introduce the notion of sigma-approximate module amenability of Banach algebras as an extension of module amenability which was introduced in [\textit{M. Amini}, Semigroup Forum 69, No. 2, 243--254 (2004; Zbl 1059.43001)]. In this paper, \(A\) and \(\mathfrak{A}\) are Banach algebras such that \(A\) is a Banach \(\mathfrak{A}\)-bimodule with the natural compatible actions and \(\sigma:A\rightarrow A\) is a multiplicative \(\mathfrak{A}\)-bimodule map. \(\mathcal J\) denotes the closed ideal of \(A\) generated by elements of the form (\(\alpha a)b-a(b\alpha)\), for all \(a,b\in A\) and \(\alpha\in \mathfrak{A}\). Among some other results, the authors prove that, if \(\sigma(\mathcal J)\subseteq \mathcal J\) and \(\hat{\sigma}:\frac{A}{\mathcal J}\rightarrow \frac{A}{\mathcal J}\) is defined by \(\hat{\sigma}(a+\mathcal J)=\sigma(a)+\mathcal J\), then \(A\) is \(\sigma\)-approximate module amenable.
