Summary: We investigate \(\sigma\)-approximate contractibility and \(\sigma\)-approximate amenability of Banach algebras, which are extensions of the usual notions of contractibility and amenability, respectively, where \(\sigma\) is a dense range or an idempotent bounded endomorphism of the corresponding Banach algebra.
