The author rigorously investigates orbital magnetism of electrons in a 3-D crystalline solid at zero temperature. For that he considers a non interacting Fermi gas in an external periodic potential, in the tight-binding approximation. In the zero temperature limit, he is able to derive an asymptotic expansion for the orbital susceptibility.
