It is known that the union of two disjoint intervals may not support an orthogonal basis of exponentials (cf. [\textit{A. Iosevich} and \textit{M. N. Kolountzakis}, Anal. PDE 6, No. 4, 819--827 (2013; Zbl 1275.42009)]). The existence of Riesz bases of exponentials is therefore the second best alternative. Using Paley and Wiener's stability theorem, the authors show that any finite union of intervals supports a Riesz basis of exponentials.
