Estimates on front propagation for nonlinear higher-order parabolic equations: an algorithmic approach (Q2515787)

This article deals with the analysis of support propagation solutions of nonnegativity-preserving higher-order parabolic equations. More precisely, the author presents an algorithm for the derivation of lower bounds on support propagation of a certain class of nonlinear parabolic equations. The algorithm uses the method of the algorithmic construction of entropies due to Jüngel and Matthes. Furthermore, the author tackles the quantifier elimination problem numerically and obtaines improvements of his recent results for lower bounds on support propagation for the thin-film equation, for second-order doubly nonlinear equations of special form and finally, for the one-dimensional sixth-oder quantum drift-diffusion equation.
