Roughly speaking, a higher algebroid (of order \(k\)) is a geometric structure generalizing the notion of a (\(k\)th-order) tangent bundle, in the same way as an algebroid generalizes the notion of the tangent bundle. A higher algebroid is a graded bundle equipped with a Zakrzewski morphism (a special kind of differential relation). The authors investigate basic properties of higher algebroids and present some examples.
