Local exponential splines with arbitrary knots (Q2516606)

As is well-known, spline approximations for instance are able to recover functions from kernels of certain linear differential operators. \(L\)-splines are generalisations in this sense of polynomial splines, and in this article, \(L\)-splines are constructed that have this property with arbitrarily placed knots. These \(L\)-splines are well-localised, and the mentioned linear differential operator has constant coefficients.
