The aim of this long study is to generalize the well-known ``quantization commutes with reduction'' principle to a general noncompact framework. This approach is based on an extension of the Witten deformation method to the noncompact case. More precisely, this method involves a deformation \(D_t\) of the Witten operator \(D\), which depends on a real deformation parameter \(t\). Another important generalization is that the authors do not have an inner product on the dual of the Lie algebra \(\mathfrak g\) that is invariant under the coadjoint action of \(G\). Hence, another main innovation is to work with families of inner products on \(\mathfrak g^{\ast }\), which have a natural \(G\)-invariance property.
