The paper is devoted to weighted spaces \(L^w_p(G)\) on a locally compact group \(G\). It is proved that: \(L^w_1(G)\) is an algebra if and only if \(w\) is semimultiplicative; the invariance of \(L^w_p(G)\) with respect to translations is a sufficient condition for the existence of an approximate identity in \(L^w_p(G)\).
