This paper deals with the essential singularity of the solution of a ramified characteristic Cauchy problem. The author considers a linear partial differential operator \(P\) with holomorphic coefficients near \(x=0\). He introduces a class of the stalk of ramified functions at \(x=0\), namely \(N_{q,k}\), and a functional space \(\widetilde N_{q,k}\) containing elements which may be ramified and with essential singularities. It is proved in the main result of this paper that for any element \(v\) in \(N_{q,k}\) there exists a unique solution \(u\) in \(\widetilde N_{q,k}\) of the equation \(Pu=v\). This paper is a generalization of some results of Y. Hamada.
