A pair \(\langle B, K\rangle\) is a Namioka pair if \(B\) is completely regular and \(K\) is compact and for any separately continuous \(f: B\times K\to\mathbb R\), there is a dense \(A\subseteq B\) such that \(f\) is jointly continuous at each point of the set \(A\times K\). Using a technique from their paper [J. Lond. Math. Soc., II. Ser. 68, No. 3, 725--738 (2003; Zbl 1081.46014)], the authors construct a Choquet space \(B\) such that the pair \(\langle B,\beta B\rangle\) is not a Namioka pair. When \(T\) is a completely regular space and \(K\) is a compact fragmentable space, the authors obtain a result for Baire subspaces \(B\) of the product \(T\times K\) closely related to Theorem 11 of \textit{P. S. Kenderov, I. S. Kortezov}, and \textit{W. B. Moors} in [Topology Appl. 109, No.~3, 321--346 (2001; Zbl 1079.54509)]. A pair \(\langle B,K\rangle\) is a weak Namioka pair if \(B\) is completely regular and \(K\) is compact and for any separately continuous \(f : B\times K\to\mathbb R\) and closed subset \(F\) of \(B\times K\) projecting irreducibly onto \(B\), the set of points of continuity of the restriction \(f|_F: F\to\mathbb R\) is dense in \(F\). The authors also strengthen a theorem of \textit{J. Saint-Raymond} [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 87, 499--504 (1983; Zbl 0511.54007)] to the following result. Theorem. If \(T\) is a completely regular space such that for any compact space \(K\), the pair \(\langle T,K\rangle\) is a weak-Namioka pair, then \(T\) is a Baire space.
