The main result of this paper gives a counterpart of the Rickman-Picard theorem for entire mappings of finite distortion satisfying certain growth conditions. Namely, any non-constant mapping of finite distortion \(f: \mathbb{R}^n \to \mathbb{R}^n\) with finite lower order and a distortion function \(K\) satisfying \[ R^{-n} \int_{B(0, R)} \exp(\phi(K(x, f))) \;dx \leq A, \] where \(\phi\) is a certain kind of Orlics function, omits at most \(q\) points. The constant \(q\) depends on \(n\), \(\phi\), \(A\) and the lower order of \(f\). The proof is done using path family methods, including modulus estimates based on ideas of Koskela and \textit{J. Onninen} [Mappings of finite distortion: continuity (2002; Zbl 1069.30040)]. In addition to the main result, the following is proved. Any mapping \(f\) as above with at least one finite asymptotic value has positive lower order.
