Let \(K\) be a finite extension of \(\mathbb Q\), \(n=[K : \mathbb Q]\geq 2\), \(\chi\) be a narrow class group character modulo \(\tilde{q}\) and \(\lambda_1, \dots, \lambda_{n-1}\) be a basis of Grössencharacters modulo \(\tilde{q}\). For full definitions see the paper. Note that any Grössencharacter \(\lambda \pmod {\tilde{q}}\) can be uniquely represented as \[ \lambda=\chi\lambda^m=\chi\lambda_1^{m_1}\dots\lambda_{n-1}^{m_{n-1}}, \] where \(m=(m_1, \dots, m_{n-1})\). The Hecke \(L\)-function associated with \(\chi\lambda^m\) is defined by \[ L(s, \chi\lambda^m)=\sum_{I}\frac{\chi\lambda^m(I)}{N(I)^s}, \] where \(I\) runs through all integral nonzero ideals in \(K\) and \(N(I)\) is a norm of \(I\). Set \(\sigma_K=1/2\), if \(K=\mathbb Q\) and \(\sigma_K=1-1/n\), otherwise. Let \(C\) be a simply connected compact set in the strip \(\sigma_K<\Re s<1\) and \(f(s)\) be a continuous function on \(C\) such that \(f(s)\) has no zero on \(C\) and is analytic in the interior of \(C\). Then the author proves the following universality theorem in \(m\) and \(t\) aspects simultaneously: for any \(\varepsilon>0\), \[ \liminf_{T\to\infty}\frac1{T^n} \mu\left\{(m,t)\in[0, T]^n \;:\;\max_{s\in C} | L(s+it, \chi\lambda^m)-f(s)| <\varepsilon\right\}>0, \] where \(\mu\) is the product measure on \(\mathbb{Z}^{n-1}\times \mathbb{R}\). For the partial case of this universality theorem see \textit{H. Mishou} and \textit{S. Koyama} [Proc. Japan Acad., Ser. A 78, No. 5, 63--67 (2002; Zbl 1041.11060)].
