This paper deals with a nonlinear problem for a system of equations of parabolic-elliptic type that describes the following physical process. In a vessel, there is a solution of \(N\) substances, each having a concentration \(u_r(t,x)\) and a charge \(z_r(t,x)\), \(r=1,\dots, N\), and the total charge \(\sum_{r=1}^N z_ru_r\) of the solution is equal to zero. Under the action of an electric field with potential \(\varphi\), a chemical reaction and a diffusion process occur on the electrodes. As a result, the concentration of the substances changes. The author proves the unique solvability of the problem mentioned above (which is formulated by H. Amann) in Hölder spaces for \(t\leq T_0\) and obtains both estimates of the solutions and the smoothness of the function \(\varphi\) with respect to \(t\).
