Moment functions on polynomial hypergroups. (Q2569217)

The authors study sequences of moment functions on Hermitian hypergroups which were introduced by Hm. Zeuner in connection with limit theorems for random walks. In particular, for one-dimensional polynomial hypergroups these sequences are classified. Moreover, a modification of the concept of moment functions in terms of a multiplicative function \(m_0\) is introduced. According to the reviewer, this makes mainly sense for positive \(m_0\) in which case this concept is closely related to the modification of the hypergroup convolution introduced by the reviewer in [Math. Z. 198, No. 3, 405--421 (1988; Zbl 0677.43002)].
