An abstract almost-CR structure is weakly pseudoconcave if the trace of the Levi form vanishes with respect to some Hermitian metric on this structure. With this hypothesis the following is proved. 1. If a CR-function \(u\) is of class \(C^2\) along a Sussmann leaf and \(|u|\) attains its maximum at an interior point, then \(u\) is constant along this leaf. In particular, for an essentially pseudoconcave (weakly pseudoconcave and minimal) almost-CR manifold: If for a CR-function \(u\) of class \(C^2\) the modulus \(|u|\) has a weak local maximum, then \(u\) is constant. 2. If two continuous CR-functions coincide locally along a Sussmann leaf, then they coincide identically on this leaf. The same concerns continuous CR-sections of smooth complex CR line bundles. These results extend the previous results on maximum modulus principle and unique continuation, which were obtained under assumptions of pseudoconcavity or essential pseudoconcavity.
