The authors study notions of \(q\)-pseudo-concavity for abstract CR manifolds. The Levi form defines a linear form on \(T^{1,1}M\), the notion of psuedoconcavity studied is to require that the kernel of the Levi form contains positive semidefinite elements \(\tau\). To these elements the authors associate certain degenerate elliptic real partial differential operators which are related to the \(dd^c\) operator. Using this point of view, the authors study \(C^\infty\) hypoellipticity, the maximum modulus principle, and boundary value problems for CR functions on open domains of abstract CR manifolds.
