Let \(N\) be a connected, simply connected, two-step nilpotent Lie group equipped with a left-invariant pseudo-Riemannian metric. The authors determine the conjugate points along geo\-desics in \(N\) which are parallel or perpendicular to the center of \(N\). If the dimension of the center is one, they are able to determine the conjugate points along all geodesics in \(N\). For some special cases quite explicit formulas are obtained.
