Let \(K\) be a smooth convex set of volume one. The convex hull of independent random points in \(K\) is a random polytope \(\Pi_n\). The purpose of this paper is to investigate the properties of the distribution function of volume \(V(\Pi_n)\). In particular the central limit theorems for the volume \(V(\Pi_n)\) and the number of \(i\)-dimensional faces of random polytopes are proved as the number of random points tends to infinity.
