Let \(X\) be a smooth projective curve defined over complex numbers. Fix a finite set \(P\) of (parabolic) points in \(X\). A parabolic vector bundle \(E_*\) on \(X\) is a vector bundle \(E\) together with a flag of vector subspaces of the fibre \(E_x\) for each \(x\in S\) and real numbers called weights attached to it. One defines a notion of semistability for parabolic vector bundles. There exists a moduli space \(M(r,d)\) of semistable parabolic vector bundles on \(X\), of rank \(r\) and degree \(d\), with flag types and weights fixed. There is a canonically defined ample line bundle \(L_{\theta}\) called parabolic determinant line bundle on \(M(r,d)\). \textit{U. N. Bhosle} and \textit{I. Biswas} [Beitr. Algebra Geom. 53, No. 2, 437--449 (2012; Zbl 1268.14033)] had shown that one can choose parabolic vector bundles \(F_*\) of suitable rank and degree which define sections \(\theta_{F_*}\) of \(L_{\theta}\) (called parabolic theta functions). The main result of the author is the following. Theorem. We can find finitely many parabolic bundles \(F_{0*}, \cdots , F_{N*}\) such that the map \[ \theta_{F_*}: M(r,d) \rightarrow \mathbb{P}^N : E_* \mapsto (\theta_{F_{0*}} (E_*) : \cdots : \theta_{F_{N*}} (E_*))\, , \] given by theta functions, is a closed scheme-theoretic embedding.
