The paper under review follows completely the typical model of ``cyclotomic'' techniques (see, for example, the paper by \textit{H.-B. Rui} and \textit{C.-C. Xi} [Comment. Math. Helv. 79, No. 2, 427-450 (2004; Zbl 1068.16012)]) both to define the so-called cyclotomic blob algebras and to study properties of those algebras. For instance, in case of a cyclotomic blob algebra being cellular in the sense of Graham and Lehrer, the irreducible modules, quasi-heredity, and semisimplicity can be described.
