The authors establish a number of consequences of Dzjadyk's theory of approximation of functions on certain sets of the complex plane. Let \(\mathbb P_n\) denote the space of complex polynomials of degree \(\leq n-1\). Let \(E_n(g, G):= \inf_{P_n \in \mathbb P_n}| | g-P_n| | _G\), where \(G\) is a domain (whose boundary satisfies certain conditions) and \(g\) is analytic in \(G\). The various estimates obtained for \(E_n(g, G)\) (and related expressions) are too technical to cite here.
