Denote by \(R(n,m)\) the ring of invariants of \(\mathrm{SL}_n\times\mathrm{SL}_n\) acting on \(m\)-tuples of complex \(n\times n\) matrices via \((g,h)\cdot (A_1,\dots,A_m)=(gA_1h^{-1},\dots,gA_mh^{-1})\). In other words, \(R(n,m)\) is the ring of semi-invariants on the space of representations of dimension vector \((n,n)\) of the \(m\)-Kronecker quiver. The author shows that \(R(3,m)\) is generated in degree \(\leq 309\) for all \(m\). For arbitrary \(n\), he proves that \(R(n,m)\) is not generated in degree \(<n^2\) using a description of the \(\mathrm{GL}_m\)-module structure of \(R(n,m)\) involving Kronecker coefficients. For certain small values of \(n\) and \(m\) the Hilbert series of \(R(n,m)\) is presented explicitly as a rational function.
