The paper departs from the well developed theory of fractal dimensions for invariant sets of uniformly hyperbolic systems, specifically Anosov maps with holes. Some inspiration is taken from studies of the Hausdorff dimensions of nonhyperbolic repellers, see \textit{V. Horita, M. Viana}, [J. Stat. Phys. 105, 835-862 (2001; Zbl 0991.37012)]. A family of nonuniformly expanding maps with holes (not assumed to be hyperbolic or conformal) is constructed on a subset of a d-dimensional manifold. The Hausdorff dimension and limit capacity for repellers of these maps are investigated. Conditions are provided to ensure that the limit capacity of the repeller is less than the dimension of the ambient manifold. The continuity of fractal invariants is proved when the volume of the hole tends to zero.
