Entgegen einer Behauptung von \textit{P. Lévy} (Théorie de l'addition des variables aléatoires, Paris (1937; JFM 63.0490.*) S. 91) wird gezeigt, daß es ganze analytische Verteilungsfunktionen gibt, deren Faltung (Komposition) im Nullpunkt nicht analytisch ist. Es wird nämlich allgemein bewiesen: Hat die Verteilungsfunktion \(F(x)\) nicht die beiden Eigenschaften, analytisch und beschränkt in jedem Streifen \(|\Im x| < \varrho\) zu sein, so ist die durch Faltung entstehende Verteilungsfunktion \[ F (x) * \bar F(x) = F(x) * [1 - F(-x)] \] bei \(x = 0\) nicht analytisch.
