Die Methode von Galerkin zur angenäherten Lösung von Aufgaben der Elastizitätstheorie wurde bisher hauptsächlich auf lineare Probleme angewandt. Verf. wendet diese Methode auf den Fall der großen Durchbiegung einer kreisrunden Platte an. Es ergibt sich eine befriedigende Übereinstimmung mit der von \textit{H. Hencky} (Z. Math. Physik 63 (1914), 311-317; F. d. M. 45, 1022 (JFM 45.1022.*)) gegebenen strengen Lösung.
