Compacta \(X\) and \(Y\) considered in this paper are metrizable. In case \(X\) and \(Y\) are given metrics, then \(C(X,Y)\), the space of (continuous) maps of \(X\) to \(Y\), will be endowed with the sup metric. By \(S(X,Y)\) we mean the subset of \(C(X,Y)\) consisting of surjective maps. An element \(f\in S(I,X)\) is called arcwise increasing if for any two distinct closed subintervals \(A\subset B\) of \(I\), \(f(A)\subset f(B)\) and \(f(A)\neq f(B)\). Such maps were studied in [\textit{B. Espinoza} and \textit{E. Matsuhashi}, Topology Appl. 190, 74--92 (2015; Zbl 1321.54058)]. An element \(f\in C(X,Y)\) is called continuum-wise injective if for any subcontinua \(A\), \(B\) of \(X\) with \(A\neq B\), and \(A\) not a singleton, \(f(A)\neq f(B)\). The main result of the paper is: Theorem 1.1. Let \(n\geq 1\). Let \(X\) be a nondegenerate continuum with \(\dim X\leq n\) and let \(Y\) be an \(LC^{n-1}\)-continuum with the disjoint \((n-1,n)\)-cells property. Then, the set of all surjective continuum-wise injective maps from \(X\) to \(Y\) is a dense \(G_\delta\) subset of \(S(X,Y)\). A corollary to this is: Corollary 1.2. The set of all arcwise increasing maps from \(I\) onto a Peano continuum \(X\) without free arcs is a dense \(G_\delta\)-subset of \(S(I,X)\).
