Consider the second-order nonlinear difference equation of the form: \[ \Delta (p_{n}(\Delta u_{n-1})^{\delta})+f(n,u_{n+M},u_{n},u_{n-M})=0,\;n\in\mathbb{Z}. \] Conditions for the existence of periodic solutions are established. Two examples illustrating the results are given.
