Remarks on quadratic mappings (Q2632542)

This paper is devoted to the study of the geometry and topology of quadratic mappings. The author study properties such as properness or stability, describing the structure of the singular set or bifurcation diagrams and studying the topology of fibres and Euler characteristics. The author begins by considering homogeneous quadratic endomorphisms of the plane, giving possible values of the topological degree. He then considers proper quadratic endomorphisms in arbitrary dimension, for which he gives an explicit estimate of the topological degree showing that it is exact in some examples. The paper concludes with the case of numerical range mappings of a complex square matrix.
