Let \(\mathfrak{g}\) be a complex finite-dimensional simple Lie algebra. The Yangian \(Y(\mathfrak{g})\), introduced by Drinfeld, is a Hopf algebra deformation of the universal enveloping algebra of the current algebra \(\mathfrak{g}[t]\). Its space of primitive elements contains \(\mathfrak{g}\) as a Lie subalgebra. The adjoint \(\mathfrak{g}\)-action being integrable, \(Y(\mathfrak{g})\) is equipped with an action of the braid group of \(\mathfrak{g}\) compatible with the coproduct. One of the definitions of \(Y(\mathfrak{g})\), Drinfeld's current realization, is given purely in terms of the Cartan matrix of \(\mathfrak{g}\). This definition can be adapted directly to a symmetrizable generalized Cartan matrix. We can attach to any Kac-Moody algebra \(\mathfrak{g}\) an associative algebra, the Yangian \(Y(\mathfrak{g})\). It follows from the works of \textit{N. Guay} [Adv. Math. 211, No. 2, 436--484 (2007; Zbl 1142.17008)] and \textit{N. Guay} et al. [Adv. Math. 338, 865--911 (2018; Zbl 1447.17012)] that for a large family of Kac-Moody algebras, including all finite types and most of the affine types, the Yangian has a topological Hopf algebra structure. In the present paper, for the above family of Kac-Moody algebras, the author proves that the action of the braid group of \(\mathfrak{g}\) on the Yangian \(Y(\mathfrak{g})\) is compatible with the topological Hopf algebra structure. As an application of the braid group action, when \(\mathfrak{g} = \widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_n\) is of affine type A with \(n \geq 3\), the author shows that the image of Guay's evaluation map, from \(Y(\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_n)\) to a completion of the universal enveloping algebra of \(\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}}_n\), contains the diagonal Heisenberg algebra of \(\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}}_n\).
