The mollifiers in the context of \(L\)-functions were first considered by \textit{N. Levinson} [Adv. Math. 13, 383--436 (1974; Zbl 0281.10017)] and \textit{B. Conrey} [J. Number Theory 16, 49--74 (1983; Zbl 0502.10022); J. Reine Angew. Math. 399, 1--26 (1989; Zbl 0668.10044)], and latter by \textit{H. M. Bui} et al. [Acta Arith. 150, No. 1, 35--64 (2011; Zbl 1250.11083)]. As it is know, a mollifier \(\psi\) is a Dirichlet polynomial that approximates the function \((L( f, s))^{-1}\) on the critical line. In the paper, the authors study the second moment of the \(L\)-function associated to a holomorphic primitive cusp form of even weight generated by a family of mollifiers which is an extension of mollifiers considered in above mentioned works by Conrey, Bui and Young. Also, an improved lower bound on critical zeroes of holomorphic primitive cusp forms is given.
