Linear adjoint restriction estimates for paraboloid (Q2633143)

This paper begins with a nice introduction to the restriction problem and a weaker version of it using only test functions with angular regularity. The main result, Theorem 1.1, is ``a class of modified paraboloid restriction estimates with a loss of angular derivatives for the full set of paraboloid restriction conjecture indices'', which can be viewed as a generalization of the results of \textit{S. Shao} [Rev. Mat. Iberoam. 25, No. 3, 1127--1168 (2009; Zbl 1183.42010)] and the authors [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 140, No. 6, 2091--2102 (2012; Zbl 1250.42052)]. \par One interesting application is to apply \textit{K. M. Rogers}'s argument [Adv. Math. 219, No. 6, 2105--2122 (2008; Zbl 1157.35326)] and establish a local smoothing result, Corollary 1.1.
