Stabilization of two coupled wave equations on a compact manifold with boundary (Q2634165)

The article refers to an IBV problem for a coupled system of two wave equations, one of them containing a damping term. The energy functional is associated to the system. The stabilization problem is investigated. Under the assumption that coupling and damping regions satisfy the Geometric Control Condition and the unique continuation property holds, an estimation for the energy is proved. This is the main result of the paper. The authors claim that this result generalizes the one in the article: [\textit{F. Alabau-Boussouira} and \textit{M. Léautaud}, J. Math. Pures Appl. (9) 99, No. 5, 544--576 (2013; Zbl 1293.35167)].
