The authors consider two second-order evolution equations on the assumption that they are coupled via the zero order terms and the first equation is stabilized by a distributed feedback. It is stated in the paper that sufficiently smooth solutions of weakly coupled systems decay polynomially at infinity and that this decay rate is, in some sense, optimal.
